A TYPICAL MORNING
We are open five mornings a week from 9.15am until 12.15pm.
At the Cherry Tree the children are encouraged to learn and develop through play. The Early Learning Goals set out in the EYFS framework are met through mixture of structured and free play. We operate a flexible system that encourages children to select their own activities and resources.
A typical morning may consist of:
09:15 – Free play*
10:15 – Circle time (action songs we sing while clapping, dancing, running, making motions with our hands, moving around, jumping up and down, and using all our energy. The last song is about washing our hands teaching them good hygiene)
10:40 – Snack time – children bring in a healthy snack and drink
11:00 – Art time –Children are able to paint, glue, finger paint, have messy play and take their work home every day.
11:20 – Music time – singing our favourite songs, using Emma’s famous magic bag and playing instruments.
11:45 – In Small groups - playing word games, picture lotto and animal dominos.
12:00 – Story time
*Our free play areas are divided into 7 key areas of learning set out in the EYFS framework:
- communication and language
- physical development
- personal, social and emotional development
- understanding of the world
- expressive arts and design
